Here at Jorgenson Companies we know a thing or two about high school–especially since we are one of the largest distributors of any type of lockers in North America. So suffice it to state we keep our eyes out for good stories involving athletes and we certainly found one today.
The Foot Locker company also knows a thing or two about athletics, and today we heard about Foot Locker’s generous award to Florida’s Southeast High School senior quarterback Myles Braxton-Johnson.
Out of a staggering 25,915 applicants to apply for a college scholarship from Foot Locker, he was given an award only 20 student-athletes around the country receive from Foot Locker!
Last week Myles Braxton-Johnson was awarded $20,000 in scholarship money by the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, which is run by Foot Locker Inc. and DoSomething.org.
The scholarship was awarded to rising college freshmen athletes who demonstrate such attributes as good leadership skills, scholastic excellence, outstanding sportsmanship and moral character, as well as a deep commitment to their community, and an active promotion of diversity.
Braxton-Johnson was the Seminoles’ starting quarterback the last two seasons and threw for 1,450 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2012 to lead Southeast to the Class 5A-District 12 title. It is exciting to know that Foot Locker has a program to award high school athletes for these types of accomplishments. Well done, Foot Locker!
Well done Braxton and our best to you! And our best accolades to Foot Locker for this fantastic program and for spotting up-and-coming athletes which deserve attention for other things than just accomplishments on the field of play…
