Parts & Tooling Sales Associate

Department: Parts & Tooling
Term of Employment: Full-time

Summary:

A Parts & Tooling Sales Associate is responsible for competitively purchasing and accurately receiving parts and tooling for both custom orders and stock items. In addition, they will perform counter sales, will quote and arrange freight for both small UPS shipments and large LTL shipments, while they provide excellent customer support to existing and potential customers, dealers, and vendors both at the counter and over the phone. Working directly with the sales team and service personnel, this position contributes to the overall success of the company. This position requires strong computer, sales and customer service skills in conjunction with a solid knowledge base of construction and fabrication equipment and parts.

Position Requirements:

  • (1) one-year CNC machining experience and experience with all lathes, mills, drilling equipment and tooling
  • Sales, customer service and administrative experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer and internet literate
  • Aggressive, outgoing and self-motivated individual with a pleasant personality
  • Inventory control software experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Efficiently work in a fast paced parts office answering incoming calls, assisting will call customers, attending to parts orders, assisting other departments, while seeking opportunities to promote additional sales.
  • Utilizes online and offline catalogs, software programs and other resources as needed to determine the correct parts for the customer.
  • Work directly with vendors on day to day quoting, pricing discounts, and specific parts or tooling applications.
  • Enter customer quotes and orders as necessary, collect payment and see order all the way through delivery to customer.
  • Process orders within the assigned queues in SalesPad.
  • Request freight quotes from freight brokers for box trucks or flatbeds as needed. Stay in communication with broker/carrier until order has been delivered and relay status according to any instructions on order.
  • Create pallets/crates as a package for parts shipments in order to prevent damage or loss.
  • Assist with prepping of machines before shipment to customer.
  • Continually focus on cost, productivity, and how to make the Parts Department more profitable.
  • Communicate status updates on arranged parts orders and shipments to customers and sales/service personnel.
  • Manage inventory, maintain stocking levels, participate in quarterly cycle counts and yearly inventory.
  • Complete quarterly competitive analysis.
  • Assist with the improvement of operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
  • Work with the Marketing Department offering any insights on what is seen on the front lines, and adding any potential valuable input on website or catalogs.
  • Act as the central knowledge base for parts and tooling to recommend solutions and assist in integration planning and engineering.
  • Possess and maintain knowledge, by continuing education, an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and product lines represented by JMT.
  • Continually improve, help refine sales processes, develop and learn new sales skills, and work to increase personal productivity.

Reporting structure:

  • This position reports directly to the Parts and Tooling Manager.
  • The Parts and Tooling Sales Associate does not have any direct reports.

IT Analyst

Job Summary: The IT Analyst position is responsible for administering enterprise level applications, troubleshooting, training users, documenting procedures, improve data integration, and helping users related to IT applications within the organization. This position will work on a variety of software applications that support critical business processes throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reported issues, requests & inquiries of a problematic technical or functional nature.
  • Support application issues. Handle reported issues that may require escalation to software vendor support.

Division 10 Specialties Estimator/Project Manager:
Estimators perform take offs from digital construction plans and specifications. This person must be a self-starter, motivated individual who preferably has prior experience and knowledge of Division 10 specialty products estimating & project management.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to locate products in database, analyze construction plans and specs and prepare time and cost estimates in accordance. Compare materials and labor requirements to find most cost effective solutions. Must submit bids and budgets by bid deadlines. Communicate with contractors, engineers, designers, architects and sub contractors to make any necessary changes to package costs. Calculate estimates for planning, scheduling and organization of work. Will collaborate with inside sales staff to coordinate work to meet given milestones and project completion dates. Will perform plan take offs, bid preparation and bidding to general contractors, and manage landed projects for all sections within Division 10 (i.e., lockers, wire partitions, toilet partitions & accessories, corner guards, fire extinguisher cabinets, postal specialties, visual display boards, shelving, etc.).
Requirements:

  • Degree in construction management or 2 years+ experience in a construction estimating position
